Novel Writing Workshops

Why choose a workshop?

Designed and run by Shereen Malherbe (BA Hons. English Lit) a published author of fiction novels, children’s books and internationally acclaimed magazines.

After her own journey to publication, Shereen realised the conflicting advice out there for writers and sought to develop a streamlined approach to demystify the process of writing whilst creating long lasting habits and technical structure that underpins becoming a writer.

Shereen features as successful alumni and is part of The Open University’s Creative Writing module to share her advice to undergraduates on Going Public.

She also appears live across TV, radio and events to discuss books, representation and to share writing advice.

Workshops

I have an idea…

Stage 1: You have an idea for your book, but you aren’t sure where to start, or even if your idea is working. You need some guidance and inspiration to kick start your project and structure how to begin. Tell us you’re interested in Stage 1.

I need a boost…
Stage 2: You may be half way through a project but seem to be stuck on completing it. You may have technical issues or need some inspiration to help to complete your project. Or you have already completed Stage 1. Tell us you’re interested in Stage 2.

I am almost ready to go public…
Stage 3: You would like to approach publishers, agents or magazines but you need some help. How and who do you approach? What should your cover letter say? Is your synopsis ready? Answer all these questions and more so you are confident to go public. Or you have already completed Stage 2. Tell us you’re interested in Stage 3.

If you are interested in joining an upcoming workshop, please indicate which one you would be interested in via your message in the contact form.

Was there something else writerly you were interested in?
