Dear all,
Please see below regarding the screening of two Palestinian films this weekend. The first one airs today and features tatreez; an important cultural UNESCO heritage listed Palestinian art form of embroidery.
If you would like to read about tatreez, it features in my children’s book, The Girl Who Stitched the Stars. You can also purchase tatreez kits for your little one to stitch along with you. It might be a good activity to combine the two this Ramadan!
For more on the preservation and to learn the art of tatreez, please check out tatreezandtea.com which is run by one of the leading tatreez specialists and educator’s, Wafa Ghnaim. I can personally recommend her work and courses as I have taken part in them myself.
Stemming from this, my upcoming novel, Yassini Girls (due to be published this Spring/Summer) will feature this crucial part of Palestinian heritage. To ensure you don’t miss its release dates, subscribe here.
For now please find the links to the films, reposted from Palestine Museum US.
